Hankook Tire Rolls Into The 2011 SEMA Show With New Product, Increased Momentum, and Brand New Exhibition Booth

  • New exhibition booth to showcase Hankook Tire's updated Global Exhibition Identity
  • Official launch of the eco-friendly enfren eco tire, Hankook's newest all-season performance tire specifically designed for fuel efficient and hybrid vehicles

Wayne, NJ - October 26th, 2011 - With new product on the floor and a brand new booth on display, Hankook Tire America Corp. will roll into the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday, November 1st through Friday, November 4th. Following positive third quarter results, Hankook Tire will unveil its newly designed exhibition booth, located in the South Hall Lower Level, #43041, as part of the Global Tire Expo, with new tire technology, engaging in-booth promotions, and product and motorsports announcements. With a large footprint that incorporates two levels and an impressive new design, Hankook's booth will showcase the company's new Global Exhibition Identity and its line of passenger, light-truck and commercial tires.

"In just one short year since SEMA 2010, our brand has made tremendous strides here in North America and specifically the United States, with increased sales, innovative new marketing initiatives, continued investment in R&D, and the release of new advanced technologies," said Soo Il Lee, president of Hankook Tire America Corp. "We are excited to be showcasing some of our key efforts at SEMA 2011 as we continue to dedicate ourselves to overall excellence for our customers, dealers, and employees."

Hankook Tire America Corp. will showcase its latest technology including the enfren eco all-season performance tire and some very exciting booth activities, including the interactive Hankook Home Run Derby which is back by popular demand.

Hankook's newest advancement, the enfren eco, Eco-Friendly All-Season Performance tire, features an exclusive high silica rubber tread compound which lowers rolling resistance and increases wet and dry handling. Hankook will host a press conference in its booth on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 3:00 ? 3:20 p.m. officially announcing this important new tire, along with an update on Hankook's motorsports activities in the United States.

Show attendees who visit the Hankook booth will also have the opportunity to participate in the baseball themed Hankook Home Run Derby. Participants who complete a short iPad registration form will each get a chance to try and hit a home run on a Nintendo Wii gaming system. If they are able to hit one out of the virtual park, their name will then be entered into a daily random drawing to win a free set of Hankook tires. Each day, 30 minutes before the close of the show, one person will be selected to win a set of new Hankook Passenger or Light Truck tires of their choice. To further add to the excitement of this event, MLB player Shin-Soo Choo of the Cleveland Indians will be at the Hankook booth on Tuesday, November 1st from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. signing autographs.

No SEMA Show exhibit is complete without a little 'flash' and Hankook certainly will have plenty to catch show-goers attention. The Hankook's Racing Girls will be at the booth posing for photos and signing posters. Some impressive vehicles also will be on display at the booth, including:

  • Conrad Grunewald's 730hp Hankook Tire Formula Drift Chevy Camaro;
  • The Maserati GranTurismo, the first modern, two-door, four-seater coupe;
  • The Honda CRZ featuring Hankook's newest enfren eco tires; and
  • The 2012 Toyota Tundra fitted with Hankook's Dynapro HT tires

Additionally, the Hankook Tire Mobile Rig will be stopping by SEMA and will be located outside in the Silver Lot, bringing attendees an up-close look at Hankook's tires. Visitors will have the chance to learn about Hankook's full line of passenger and light truck tires by way of product literature and presentation.

All of Hankook's tires utilize the brand's proprietary Kontrol Technology which focuses on four main areas that consumers identified as key when choosing quality tires: Performance, Safety, Comfort and a tire's impact on the Environment.
