South Carolina Native Wins Ford Mustang Shelby GT500


CHARLOTTE, NC Jan. 20, 2011 - While the boys of summer might be taking a break from the baseball diamond, one South Carolina native has definitely hit one out of the park. Hankook Tire Co., currently the seventh largest and one of the fastest growing tire companies in the world, today announced the grand prize winner of its national "Great Hit" Giveaway. Tonya Bullard, a medical coding specialist from South Carolina, was randomly selected to win a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Bullard was presented the key to her new 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 last week at Keith Hawthorne Ford-Lincoln in Charlotte, North Carolina by Soo Il Lee, president of Hankook Tire America Corp, with Bullard's family and Hankook representatives in attendance.

Hankook Tire's "Great Hit" Giveaway was the second of two successful baseball-themed consumer promotions held last year. The "Great Hit" Mail-in Rebate program was available to consumers who purchase four select tires of any size between September 1, 2010 and November 30, 2010 from any authorized Hankook retailer. No purchase was necessary to enter the giveaway. The tires included in the rebate program were the Ventus V12 evo, the Ventus V4 ES, the Optimo H727 and the Ventus AS.

Bullard's entry was randomly chosen out of more than 45,000 submissions. The mother of a toddler, Bullard learned of the giveaway on a mommy blog she frequently reads. "I heard about the giveaway online, and I thought it would be awesome to win a mustang. It's really our dream car," said Bullard.

"The Great Hit Giveaway program was a way for Hankook to not only give something back to consumers who are loyal to our brand, but the rebates and giveaway that were part of the program were also a way for us to attract new consumers to the Hankook brand and offer them something in return," said Lee.

"This is really an exciting event" continued Mark Ficken, General Manager at Keith Hawthorne Ford-Lincoln in Charlotte, NC. "It's not every day that someone wins a car!"
