Patented Design Gives New Hankook Tire Unparalleled Performance
The new Ventus V2 Concept High Performance All-Season tire sports a wide range of technological innovations.
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 2, 2010 - Building a tire for the High Performance segment is no easy task. Making that tire perform well in All-Season conditions is even more of a challenge, but that's exactly what Hankook Tire has done with the development of the new Ventus V2 Concept High Performance All-Season tire launched today at the 2010 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
The new Ventus V2 Concept High Performance All-Season tire sports a wide range of innovations that provide consumers an unmatched driving experience in all-season conditions.
One of those innovations is the tire's patented "Twister System," a unique 3D Wave Pattern Channel that forcibly removes water from the tire's contact patch. This exclusive design allows for impressive traction in wet conditions and helps to minimize the risk of hydroplaning.
Hankook engineers also used a design tool called Suspension Performance Characterization during the development of Ventus V2 Concept. This technology allowed engineers to optimize the tire's performance according to lean angles and directional movements during computer simulated usage. The end result is a tire that provides greater performance and control during cornering and braking.
Comfort wasn't overlooked either during the development of Ventus V2 Concept. Through exhaustive testing using Radiation Noise Prediction technology Hankook engineers were able to pinpoint and eliminate unwanted road noise from the design, providing a finished tire with a quieter ride.
An All-Season High Performance Compound also extends the tire's tread life and improves snow traction. These improvements allow the Ventus V2 Concept to match the performance capabilities of most summer tires, but with twice the winter traction.
"We're very proud and excited to debut our new Ventus V2 Concept Tire here at SEMA. This tire will implement a wide range of advancements that gives drivers more control and comfort as well as all season performance," said Todd Hershberger, Sr. Vice President, Hankook Tire America Corp. "It represents the ideal interaction between driver, vehicle and the road."
Other features of the Ventus V2 Concept include:
- Optimized Contact Patch: Improves driving comfort and stability. Also, prevents unusual abrasion.
- Jointless Cap Ply: Improves uniformity for durability and a smoother ride.
- Rim Protector: Provides better protection against outer shock and rim scratches.
- Wide, High-Tensile Steel Belts: Improved tread life and better steering response.
- Jointless Bead Wire & High Hardness Bead Filler: Improved high speed stability and helps to provide a more comfortable ride.
As with all new Hankook tires the Ventus V2 Concept has been designed utilizing Hankook's Kontrol Technology. Kontrol Technology is Hankook's assurance that all tires are optimized for performance, safety, comfort and their impact on the environment.
The Ventus V2 Concept will be available throughout the United States in 22 sizes by Dec. 1, 2010.
