Hankook Tire Inaugurates <Global Education Center> in Korea
- Center to provide intensive education program for production line workers and trainees from global production network; Korea, China and Hungary
- To establish unified systems for efficiency through collaboration
- Expected to play a crucial role in producing the world's highest quality tires
July 12, 2010 (Seoul, Korea) - Hankook Tire, the seventh-largest and one of the fastest growing tire companies in the world, established Global Education Center to collaborate and foster the company's production system.
Global Education Center, located in the Daejeon plant, is intended to enhance the capabilities of employees for production and functional posts at plants in Korea, China, Hungary, as well as plants to be established in the future. Through the Global Education Center, Hankook Tire expects to strengthen global production network collaboration, establishing standard production quality.
It can simultaneously accommodate about 250 trainees a day and has seven indoor and outdoor training spaces with the latest educational materials and apparatuses and a large auditorium, a computer room, a lounge, lodgings, and other facilities.
The indoor training space has practice rooms for training on machinery, electricity, and models and 3D simulation. Training will be conducted using videos and miniature models. At the outdoor space, large facilities that are already being or soon will be used at plants are in place to provide practical training.
The Center also has a library of specialized books about electricity and facilities and other references so that trainees can engage in theoretical study. About 60 rooms for lodgings at the center have been completed to provide comfortable accommodations for the trainees.
Executive Vice President of Production & Engineering Division at Hankook Tire, Mr. Jae-Ryong Yoon said, "Global Education Center has been established to enhance creative collaboration and interaction between local personnel." Mr. Yoon added, "The Center is expected to play a pivotal role in standardizing the high-quality level of Hankook Tire to provide cutting-edge products to all our global customers."
