CJ’s Tire and Hankook Cheer on Philadelphia Eagles at Training Camp
City of Brotherly Love Receives VIP Treatment
WAYNE, N.J. Aug. 17, 2009 - CJ’s Tire & Automotive and Hankook Tire America Corp. set up shop at the Philadelphia Eagles training camp this month to educate consumers about the brand and give back to the community.
Through a promotional opportunity with the Eagles, Hankook and CJ’s Tire invited customers and Eagles fans from the Philadelphia area to their VIP tent at the field Saturday, Aug. 8. Guests attended a luncheon with an opportunity to meet Eagles players and got an up-close and personal view of training camp action. CJ’s Tire also partnered with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to host a 9-year-old boy and his family.
“We have 11 stores here in Pennsylvania and we’re an active part of this community,” said Greg Mynaugh, director of sales and operations of CJ’s Tire. “This was our chance to give back to the city of Philadelphia and help make a child’s wish come true.”
CJ’s Tire routinely supports charities in the Philadelphia area. Most recently the company took part in the RTR Planes & Porsches AutoX autocross event, donating an Eagles jersey autographed by wide-receiver Kevin Curtis to benefit the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Association Charity.
The Philadelphia Eagles training camp is held at Leigh University in Bethlehem and is one of the largest training camps in the NFL averaging 60,000 fans. The promotional sponsorship included Hankook and CJ’s branding throughout the Eagles training camp and expo row, VIP tent, web banners on the Eagles website, plus promotional items given away to attendees. CJ’s also gave away a signed helmet and VIP field passes and hosted a ‘tire toss’ event using Hankook tires.
“Hankook is happy to be part of CJ’s Tire’s philanthropic efforts,” said William Bainbridge, director of brand communications, Hankook Tire America Corp. “We value the community involvement we see from our dealers across the country. Giving back to our customers is the best way to build relationships and show our appreciation for their support.”
In October, Hankook Tire and CJ’s will be partnering again along with the Philadelphia Eagles and Jefferson Hospital to hold an autocross fundraiser with all of the proceeds going to tackling Breast Cancer.
