Hankook Tire to Sponsor the Audi Soccer Cup

  • Sporty high point of the Audi anniversary festivities, with participation by Hankook
  • Tyre company demonstrates its commitment to premium products and services

Neu-Isenburg, Germany, 27 July 2009 - Hankook Tire wouldn’t miss the gathering of the international professional football world on 29th and 30th July 2009 at Munich’s Allianz Arena in honour of Audi’s 100-year anniversary for the world. The tyre manufacturer, already known for its sporty, high-performance products, is involved in this high-class sporting event as one of the official sponsors.

In addition to the German record holder, FC Bayern Munchen, led by new coach Louis van Gaal, the teams that have confirmed that their attendance includes AC Milan, the world’s most successful team, with 18 international titles to its credit; Manchester United, which currently tops the world club rankings; and Argentine champions and three-time Intercontinental Cup winners Boca Juniors, from Buenos Aires. The tournament is considered the ultimate test which the teams will face going into the new season, so all of the teams have announced that they will bring their best line-ups.

During the event, Hankook Tire’s activities will include making its ultra-high-performance Ventus S1 evo wide-base tyres the focus point of the presentation taking place in the stadium. Just recently, the flagship of the sporty tyre line from Hankook Tire, which has garnered numerous awards in the international automotive press, was selected for the original equipment on the A3 model produced at Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt, Bavaria.

What could be better than to support this event, which will involve four teams that are not only among the world’s best, but also play at the highest possible technical level?”
