First Place for Tyler McQuarrie at Redline Time Attack Season Opener
WAYNE, NEW JERSEY, April 18, 2008 - Tyler McQuarrie raced against the clock to capture a first-place finish at the Buttonwillow Raceway. He competed in the Unlimited Class at the season opener of Redline Time Attack on March 29 in a CWest/Brian Crower Honda S2000 fitted with Hankook Tire Z214 DOT R Compound C71s.
McQuarrie is headed in the right direction with a win, but he says that there’s plenty of room for improvement. “It’s great to start the season out with a win. As we get to know the car better, we’ll just improve the performance from here,” McQuarrie said.
While the team had a few setbacks to improve upon, they were able to create enough extra horsepower to be competitive and win with a time of 1:48.829.
“We know that with his experience from last year, Tyler will continue to excel in this highly competitive series,” said Bill Bainbridge, director of brand communication, Hankook Tire America Corp. “We’re thrilled to have him racing on Hankook tires and we expect great results.”
In 2007, McQuarrie raced with his Formula Drift team, JIC Magic, finishing second in the Unlimited Class at last year’s season opener.
